I'm sure that many of you have read this post about me at my most hipster-ific. Yes, I made myself leather suspenders.
Robin loves them, but it's taken me a while to get used to them, and I had to install buttons on all of my pants (made by hand out of leather, of course). I decided that it was time: I needed to make myself a belt. And not just any belt, but a beautiful suede belt.
Using some thread I picked up in France, the same thread that Hermès uses for its bags, I set to work. Y'all can see for yourselves how it turned out:
Next, I wanted to make a more rugged, wider belt out of some beautiful natural vegetable tanned leather that I'd picked up about a year earlier.
While the suede belt is perfect for dressier occasions, the natural leather has become my everyday, go-to belt. And it will stay that way for many years to come, only getting better with age.
